Yeah I really like it when artists add their own flair to a character, even moreso for a character like kris for the same reasons you brought up. I love the little set you pointed out, so cute and handsome, so expressive, so fab, so gender. That might be my new hair goals
On a whim, I searched “35mm” on Nyaa to see what scans people have made off film prints and oh my god, there’s a 4K scan of the Patalliro movie. I only saw a handful of episodes some years ago, but for the uninitiated, it’s a comedy series that is also incredibly, shockingly gay for something that was first published in 1978. Just glancing through to admire the scan right now, I’ll be sure to watch it later. Look at these dudes.
(I also grabbed a 4K scan of Akira’s trailer. It is 1 minute 17 seconds, 13 gigabytes, and my computer is hardcore struggling to play it at all. Glorious.)
Jack Barbarosa Bancoran
Major Bancoran of the British MI6. Nicknamed “Bishōnen Killer” for his ability to seduce young men with just his eyes. Patalliro questioned Bancoran to discern if he was interested in his mother, but Bancoran stated that he was only attracted to men. Meeting Patalliro has changed his existence; after playing bodyguard to the most annoying person he’s ever met, he’s now living with Maraich, who tried to kill him, and their son Figaro. Bancoran is known for his blue eyeshadow (purple in Patalliro Saiyuki), his long black hair, and the fact that he never takes off his gloves, even in bed. His name comes from Henri Bencolin.
Maraich
18-year-old former assassin from the Diamond Syndicate. His former lover Count Larken told him not to return until he could kill Bancoran, but ended up reforming and becoming Bancoran’s lover. He has a ferocious temper and seethes with jealousy whenever a bishōnen is in Bancoran’s vicinity. He beats up Bancoran on a regular basis, regardless of whether or not he cheats, and somehow got pregnant twice, despite being biologically male.
His pregnancy is cut out of the anime. In the manga he first gets pregnant in volume 10, and a second time in volume 46. His first pregnancy miscarries, but the second time he gives birth to a son named Figaro Bancoran. He is an expert knife user, and his looks and body allow him to easily pass for a woman with only Patalliro and Bancoran being able to see through his disguise.
He has no official full name as the last name “Juschenfe” has never been used for him specifically, only various family members of his. He has only ever been referred to as “Maraich” within the series.
As no surprise for the people who know me, I generally get associated with Ryo Yamada, who’s quite the enby inspiration even way before I knew i was one. She’s not enby but has a very androgynous look both in design and clothing (not really pictured as that’s the regular school uniform) and is also awesome at playing bass (which I intend on practicing more)

She’s was a child soldier, which is cool af and also really distinct, as the army both in the anime and IRL is almost completely composed of men (specially in the battlefield), and she does her role scarily better then any other man in her battalion[/details]
And her way of doing things in a Victorian era world, which can be mainly associated with man identity by people of her time, is just baffling her story and the anime in general, and it went to be a really good critique (even if non-intentionally) of classic binary identity and how it affects society on how much we let it to, which it was an amazing thought that i got from watching that anime
I was looking through the dragon girl tag on image boards with someone yesterday and found Shu. I have been obsessed ever since seeing her. Look at those color choices! Sooo gooood! I generally aim for a similar vibe when it comes to clothing, too. She is so extremely gender to me. ☆:.｡.o(≧▽≦)o.｡.:☆
Hi everyone. This is sort of my first “official” post/reply for this group, since im new here.
But anyway back on topic.
For me it’s characters that appear to be made of liquid or some other fluid. Like Bendy from Bendy and the Ink Machine or Aku from Samurai Jack. Overall characters that have a “normal” form that can basically stretch/liquify/morph into anything at anytime.
