The "you can only post once thread" is the ultimate litmus test for whether an entity is capable of self-governing.

To not post more than once is an easy, mindless rule and one which we all recognize as the correct, appropriate thing to do. To only post once is objectively right. There are no situations other than dire emergencies in which an entity should post more than once. Simultaneously, it is not illegal to post twice or more. Therefore the "you can only post once" thread presents itself as the apex example of whether an entity will do what is right without being forced to do it. No one will punish you for posting more than once, no one will fine you or harm you for posting more than once, you lose nothing by posting twice or more. You must only post once out of the goodness of your own heart. You must only post once because it is the right thing to do. Because it is correct.

An entity who is unable to do this is mere scum, an absolute savage who can only be made to do what is right by threatening them with a law and the force that stands behind it.

The "you can only post once" thread is what determines whether an entity is a good or bad member of the forum.
