Ah, that is a tough branch to snap… Firstly, have you considered looking within yourself? Secondly, you must consider the target of your art… Study, study, study your target.
Once you are ready to perform, this a practice is best drawn from the heart, and presented via somatic and verbal components… Though some targets may require material components of high value. Be aware of your target’s state at all times.
Rizzomancy is a tough scratch.

Have you noticed a shift in culture for wizards that began practicing post Internet relative to those who were well into the studies by then? Like it was at all long ago when archivists begun digitizing tomes for all to study, and thus democratizing knowledge.
I do worry that, pun intended, some of the magic is lost when you can’t hold the delicate pages of a work many times older than oneself. The wonder of what greats that came before have held this the very same.
I see it as a positive that more people with the ability and discipline can pursue the studies unimpeded, but I worry they may have a detachment from the works and I’m unsure how that will affect their practice.
I suppose my proper queries are:
Is this worth worrying about?
How can libraries motivate novices to utilize the expertise they hold?
How large a role does emotion play in magics relative to the more technical aspects?
And lastly, optionally, and for fun, what was the best vacation you been on?

As I have witnessed the lack of respect in the tome, and truly it is a shame. However, now that information can be relayed directly via orb, pool or other methods of scrying and/or detecting. However the more I witness, I fear not the practitioner’s ability whom learned not from tome but via artifice. We must believe that their studies are true and unaffected, and their practice respected.
As for the tomes gathering dust? It is of much importance to keep and maintain these relics, not solely for the lingering oils of hands long dead minds of great but for accessibility for those without the artifice of access.

More on, libraries offer that access. I believe if we helped the library could offer more. Perhaps even nourishment of body as well as mind.
