Music Recommendations

Aiobahn is… one of Soyl’s top musicians by far. Their character (robot girl thing) is very gender, their music has a great sound, and the vibes are always on point with all of their music.

It also probably helps that one of the first songs that it began to understand in Japanese was one of their works, but still.

They usually work with a handful of singers, and their voices are so beautiful and pair perfectly with the rest of the songs.

This last one has a fantastic video, shot on film/tape, in a 4:3 ratio, and also the song that it mentioned understanding the lyrics to earlier

making a separate post for this bc its a whole different genre than the last, but it loves to find things like this.

random playlists of music that it otherwise would not have exposure to

It has heard music from the soviet days before but as one of the commenters said on this, its nice to have music that was just… every day music, and not just war music.

I’ve been basically listening to this on loop. If you caught my recent post in the Wholesome thread, this is that guy’s brother.

This Is It

Hold it together and try to remember that you’re still alive
Everything shifts and moves together, the change in your eyes
And the nights are different and I miss you sometimes

Learning to be yourself in this world is really something else
Walking around and talking in town, forget about your health
And my heart is aching, sometimes I forget
That this is it
So please won’t you take care of these
Feelings and people in your life?
This is it, so please
Won’t you take care of these
Feelings and people in your life?

Hold it together and try to remember that you’re still alive

I’ve recently come across someone called Seb Lowe who makes heavier rock(?) music with faster beats, mainly about the poopoo that’s happening in damp fish and chips land. Warning for their music being a bit sweary. As someone who lives there and is also mad at the government, I quite like it. One of his more popular songs, “Terms and Conditions” is about how the law is still made to benefit the rich and keep the poor down, the same way it’s been the whole time and that complaint is almost meaningless now. how after re-reading this I realised I was talking about “Ode to Britannia” I personally prefer the live version of “Terms and conditions” for it’s louder, more aggressive, more metal-y sound, but the normal one is also super good I think.
His most recent song “Jump Scare” strays from his more political songs and also adds a flavour of music closer to pop, but still mixed with his normal style, which sounds really nice. It’s very metaphor heavy, which I am very bad at deciphering, but I do understand that the car mentioned in this song is a metaphor for you and your life. Hell would be nice understanding this one since I sure can’t.
Royal Family” is also another one I like that is about how the royal family isn’t all that useful anymore and how it portrays an image of class and high standards while the country itself is rapidly declining, and is soon going to be the absolute opposite of that image.

TLDR: Funny British man is angry at government and sings about it

The Saycet albums “One Day At Home” and “Through the Window” have a neat vibe to them (also both of these songs involve trains so that’s fun)

TBM has a nice vibe to it

This song is calming but kinda made me anxious the first time I heard it

Also been listening to Mitski
One of those nights.

Since I love music so much I decided to make a large post covering the bandwidth of the music I listen to. It’s a lot and I don’t expect anyone to listen to it but searching and deciding what to choose was fun. This could have ended up so much longer though, especially further down where the Metal starts. The songs start “light” and get “darker/harder”

Vocaloid, EDM:
Twinfied - Ears Lollipop

Vocaloid:
inabakumori - I’m the Rain

ACCAMER written by Mirin Shiino - Nomic

I defy the binary that has been established.
I do not cater to social etiquette.
And so, I am worthy of fulfillment,
I realized.

If you like this check out Mirin Shiino’s Vocaloid songs.

Melodic Punk:
Worriers - Warm Blanket

And so I’ll grow up to be a warm blanket
Spend my life comforting a slow panic
Fall asleep wondering if the world makes it
Wait 'till the weight of it all disappears

Thai Rap:
AUTTA x BLACKSHEEP x MILLI -ไหนเล่า
To sum up the lyrics it’s about reaching out to someone and talking instead of bottling everything up.

Folk Punk:
She/Her/Hers - Internet Ads

Those personalized ads on my browser
See nothing at all wrong with me
And it’s kind of refreshing to be so accepted
Even if all they’ll accept is my money

Vocaloid:
GESO - Ishu

Industrial/Noise Rock:

WARNING: Very Depressing, Mention of suicide

HEALTH - ASHAMED (OF BEING BORN)

The group in general makes rather depressing music. It’s good for indulging in the feeling for a bit.

Hardcore Punk:
Petrol Girls - Big Mouth

But the point that I think so many of us have in common is this demand on us to be quiet and polite and nice
Like you’re meant to just smile through it and fucking get on with it
Like when you say no or fight back or even just disagree, you’re the one that’s the fucking problem

Nu Metal:
Nova Twins - Antagonist

Industrial Death Metal + a lot of stuff:
Mechina - When Virtue Meets Steel
The Band tells a Sci-fi story with their songs. It’s weird but kinda cool.

Gindcore/Death Metal:

WARNING: Album cover shown in the video has graphic depiction of guts and blood

Napalm Death - Hierarchies

Endless hierarchies
Distortions of human nature
Nature versus future
Obsolescence reality
Nature versus nurture
The endless hierarchies

This song it`s so good, I have been listening to it for the past week no stop! The first time I ever found the project SEKAI version before the original (both are great).

Also I saw you drop your underrated Vocaloid songs so I`ll drop mine.

The creator of the song it`s an italian trans man that makes italian covers of songs. He also made this cute little thing, I especially love the lyrics.

This song is a masterpiece. This song is THE song of Kasane Teto, and there have been multiple version made with different voicebank of hers:
KASANE TETO「Song of Eared Robot」10TH ANNIVERSARY COVER
【重音テト】耳のあるロボットの唄 【SynthVカバー】
If you listen to all of them in sequence, it is almost magical.

Youtube reminded me of this gem and I thought it kinda related a little bit to @a_lilian because of the TTS voice and also all of the other people that started using TTS voices cause of them

And obviously can’t forget all of our robot frens here hehe

Also if you like, give a listen to all the other Louie Zong stuff, they are amazing

Oh, this evokes such a sweet, strange, listless longing. This feels like being on a boat and both wanting to go somewhere and having no desire to row.

Today it’s here with some music from a small artist on the edge between several genres It can’t get out its head! Atsuover! Atsuover often uses happy, sparkly music, with dark and/or concerning lyrics. She is an artist most well known for her Friday Night Funkin’ tracks, but this one doesn’t really like any of that, so it’s here to talk about the concerning relatability of the rest of her tracks! Really though, the gender feelings and other relatability sure does with these.
Some of my favourites are

  • Good Enough
This one is about, quite obviously, feeling like you aren’t good enough and how if other people are better then maybe she should just disappear. However at the end of the song she realises that even if she is flawed, people still love her. It’s also the first song where she had enough confidence to add vocals!

  • Ms. Mediocre
Oh boy the depressing relatability. This one is essentially Good Enough 2, although there is no official vocal version there is lyrics in the YouTube video and marked on the Spotify page, so you can sing along if you want. As it is almost just Good Enough 2, this song is mainly about feeling like she’s terrible at everything and will always be that way. This one often used to include, and sometimes still, does include the quote “Ms. Mediocre, Hack of all Trades
Master of None Till the end of her days” in this bio.

  • Artist Lemonade
This song is about pouring your absolute heart and soul into something, and then the terrible disappointment when other people, or worse, you don’t like it.

  • Online Oversight
Oh boy, even more terrible relatability!
This song is about having unrestricted internet access from a young age and being very messed up by it.

Anyway it wants to ramble more but this isn’t the hyperfixation thread, so if you want to see that, head over there, where it’ll copy this and then add even more rambling.

ZUTOMAYO, i don’t think has been mentioned yet. the individual tracks on release have a lot of really bouncy basslines, but also (and since i’ve been relistening to these again lately) the live shows are insane with a ton of funky analog effects. TV percussion, tesla coils, whatever the fuck is going on at the beginning here with tape… it’s so good. it’s such a wild experience compared to their MVs.
