I think hair is kinda cool because you can: express yourself / be creative / be nasty / change your look and vibe i suppose by just doing something with your hair. And yea what kind of inspired me to do this thread was that I semi-recently cut myself bangs for the first time and it’s coool. You can also kinda just become someone else with just a haircut. Possibilities are endless! (dyes, hair accessories etc… (hat thread?)) I suppose change is also a factor, as as you age, also possibly your “taste in hair” changes too. I wonder if it’s nice to just change your hair just for the sake of feeling different about your look in general too ?
What do your hairs look like / ideal or not-so-ideal hairs look like / or what do hairstyles that just really resonate with you somehow look like? What does your hair taste like? (is there a shampoo that makes your hair taste like raspberries?) What are your hair philosophies like?
My current hair is kind of maybe manifesting a look something like this:
Bangs are a commitment, as is cutting any hair i suppose you could say, but in my case I do really like them . I also really like how shorter hair looks and feels, but atleast now wouldn’t cut it short myself as I really like the feeling of longer hair. And also my hair tastes kinda bland actually.
I like dying my hair blond or white/silver. I shook it up with a soft pink last time which looked cool but washed straight out whoops.
I get my hair cut very short when I dye it, then let it grow out a bit so it transitions to being dyed ends, it’s quite fun.
I love having short hair, had it like that my whole life, but I wonder maybe I don’t know what I’m missing out on having it long. I’d like to try out a good wig so I can see what its like super long without the time commitment.
I use to have short hair that I didn’t take care. I let it grow out some because laziness/depression. I didn’t really enjoy my hair growing out at first. Someone suggested I put my hair a ponytail and I fell in love with it. I started gettinng compliments on my hair. Then I heard someone talk about good hair care. I switched up what I was doing and now my hair looks really good beside some split ends because I am too lazy to get it cut. Estrogen is also probably probably helping too.
My hair is always in what I consider feminine ponytails or buns. I love my long hair but it needs to be contained! Especially when its windy. I hate when it blows into my face. I have some cute big clips and a bunch of big bows that I love so much. (I just love bows in general )
I want get my bangs styled in a feminine way but I feel anxious about doing it…
My hair is naturally dark brown with some Red in it. I enjoy the color and it really shines with my hair being long and in good lighting. I dont think I’ll ever dye my hair but I enjoy seeing other peoples haired dyed.
I have very thick hair and it has been a rainbow of different colors throughout my life! At the moment though it’s very plain, blonde and long (I’ve been growing it out because I loovve to wear my hair in a braid). To combat the unruliness of the thickness I have a pretty drastic undercut that ends a couple of inches above my ears and it makes life soooo much easier! I also love maintaining my own hair so I tend to go at it with scissors myself, which makes trips to a very sensory overloaded hair salon nonexistent. It makes the summer much more bearable as well, but can get a little chilly during the winter months.
One day when I’m feeling a bit more brave I’d love to try out a chelsea cut, though!
Me too! I used to wear it in a bun because hair in face sensory issues but it was causing some major split ends and breakage. Having an undercut took care of a LOT of the sensory stuff I was experiencing so I’m happy to be able to have it braided. I’ve been looking into getting a bonnet to help with a bit of frizz issues (I wouldn’t be able to say for a hundred percent sure I have curly hair, but it’s definitely got some wave to it and I just…don’t have the energy to do the insane routines people do to maintain their curls) but I’m on the fence with how comfy I would find it and I have enough issues falling asleep as is.
i’ve always been on the fence about bangs for myself. as a kid my hair would always get cut pretty short (family pressure more than any real reasons), but college + the pandemic did let me finally experiment with some other lengths and different ways of holding it down outside. now that things are warming up again i might fool around again. not sure if i’d ever dye it (feels like a big commitment when i’m bad at regular upkeep like that), but if i do it’d go back toward the super bright blonde i had when i was a kid. miss that.
berets are cool, as far as hats go. the US (at least in my area) likes to do this thing where they only really want to sell caps and large sun hats, and neither of those are my thing. i might order a beret sometime soon if i’ll be out walking after the pollen calms down.
(doesn’t taste like anything, really. it’s a texture, but i can’t find a flavor.)
Aha I too used to have naturally very blonde hair that went dark and as I said now I dye it light again.
I went through the whole hat rigmarole recently, and I ended up getting this that I quite like

Shoutout to my patient model.
I think they're known as baker boy caps? Seems like they called different things in different places.
I’ve been letting my hair grow out since the start of the pandemic and I like how long it’s gotten, though I’m starting to thin in the back and it makes me dysphoric >.<
I have around shoulder length hair, and I have no freaking clue how to take care of it!! I tend to like my hair shorter (something about my face looks more fem with short hair…?) and when I was young when my hair got long it was fine. But now it kinda feels brittleish? Does anyone have hair care tips?
I have basically straight, but slightly wavy hair.
My current hair care routine has been shampoo and conditioner (same brand) in the cycle you describe, but i did not know about where to place each of them. When I was younger I would shower every night because of school, but now I might shower every 2 or 3 days. My mom has always had an extra oily scalp I forget what it’s called, but we thought for a bit I might have the same thing, but we never really figured it out.
I have a pretty simple brush, but it feels nice on my hair, should I be brushing every day? I think part of my problem might be that I am letting my hair tangle to much
