I finaly have an vil

Oo heeeeell yes!

It would probably be easier to circumvent that entirely and drive the tubes directly to display time. I think there are even clock kits for nixie tubes avaliable online that dont include the tubes (since they're rare and a collectors item)

Some weeks ago I bought this cheap bone conduction headphones and it changed everything.

Ive been wanting to test this kinda of hardware for a while, a co-worker talked about this really cheap one that he bought and I got it to try it out. Using it changed everything and I feel like buying a “premium” one as soon as I can.

Bone conduction WHAT?

Bone conduction is the conduction of sound to the inner ear primarily through the bones of the skull, allowing the hearer to perceive audio content even if the ear canal is blocked.
[more at wikipedia]

Basically, instead of puting the headphone/earphone on/in your ears you use it on the bone right next to your ear, and that vibrates your skull and you can hear everything crystal clear.

The one that bought is reaaaally good. You can use it under water, it has bluetooth and an internal storage if you want to play some downloaded music/podcast. It’s used a lot to go swimming and doing exercises/sports, and thats where the internal storage came in handly, cause you don’t need to have your phone/device close to use it.
I’ve been using it a lot while I do some house chores and showering, its super cool, it feels as close as we can get to cyberpunk. As it doesnt obstruct the ear canal, you can still hear most of thingies and thats a plus in most cases.

but if u really want to get into the zone I recommend comboing the bone conduction headphone with the loop earplugs

combo

Okay, and after saying all those thingies I still want to buy new one…

The one that I got has some issues, most of them are totally justified by how much I payed for it (something close to 10 USD).

not exacly problems, just a really cheap hardware

→ The bluetooth is really low quality, which make it really short distance and has a big delay in audio.
You can circunvent this by just downloading everything and using the internal storage, but its a lil annoying ngl.

The main problem tho is a skill gap thingie.

My head is really smol and theres no way to change the lengths of the headset, so it doesnt “grip” well and that makes the sound a little quiet and kinda annoying to use while laying down. And thats why I want to buy a better one.

Anyway, hope u liked my vyvanse tedtalk

I've been waiting for What It Takes to Move Forward by Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) to get re-pressed for 2-3 years now, so when I got the notification that it was in stock (limited to 1200 total, split between two color-ways), I immediately purchased it[1].

I thus present, for your enjoyment, all my Empire Empire stuff (the cream shirt and You Will Eventually Be Forgotten I already had, also pardon the messy bed since these are obviously not going on the floor!):

Also BONUS FREEBIES

This Will Come to Pass by Calculator is just the cover, no record (something Count Your Lucky Stars does)
Also included were download codes for a few things, which aren't shown for obvious reasons, and a small printed note from Keith Latinen[2]

  1. plus a shirt, can't have enough of those ↩︎

  2. founder of Empire Empire and operator of Count Your Lucky Stars Records, also has a solo project: Mt. Oriander ↩︎

I've got new empty shelf that can fit bigger formats [2] and have steady income so my collection of artbook begins

It feels a bit wired buing stuff from a part of the game I haven't even seen yet (I barely even half way free trial [3]) but I love the art direction of FF14. [4]

Small sample of the insides

I love the ones with just the silhouettes for scale

I recently ordered Toki Poma, as well as The Dictionary of Obscure sorrows. I expect them to arrive this week. I've always wanted to see what all the fuss is about, and to expand my vocabulary as much as I can ^-^

toki pona?!

sina wile ala wile alasa sona e toki pona?[1]
mi wile e ni: toki pona li pona tawa sina![2]

anyways, those sentences aside...[3]

word of advice about the toki pona book though: it's not the end-all be-all of toki pona. the book is over a decade old at this point, and not only is it a bit outdated, it's also specifically representative of Sonja Lang's own style of speech more than anything else.
it's still really good for learning! but mostly just a note that the language exists outside of that book, and it is a living language that has changed a bit even since the publication of the book.
so some things that may seem ungrammatical or confusing when you only have the book, are actually perfectly reasonable in typical speech!
also have a fun resource you can use to practice toki pona if you get a firm foundation in it: bwonk

oh also! as for my own fun purchases, because i'd feel guilty if i didn't actually stick with the thread topic...

i bought a new yoyo somewhat recently! it's just another skill toy for me to play around with, but it's been quite fun, regardless. always wonderful to take some time to try and learn some new skills![4]

=w=

  1. "you want to learn toki pona?" ↩︎

  2. "I hope toki pona is good for you!" ↩︎

  3. i'm pretty sure that those sentences make sense... but they might not, honestly. ↩︎

I am aware that there are more than one, and perhaps more up-to-date versions of the book, but I want to start with the classics, [1]

Nice, I also have one of those. I tried learning some tricks with it, but after a while the nylon string wears out, and I had a limited number of these left, and I didnt feel like buying new ones v-v.

  1. since I dont know if it will be as an interesting hook as I think it is toki toki... ↩︎

Just received Toki Poma:

one first things I noticed when looking around the pages is that the word jan means 'person' and lili means little....

That means that @a_lilian (approximately) translates to a little person in Toki Poma

AAWAWAWAWAW

  • NOTE:

This is with the assumtion that we are following the English vocabulary structure ( verb > nown) and not the Toki Poma one (noun > verb, which would make it `jan lili)

I have yet to receive The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, dont know what happened to it...

To hell with grammar, I love it!

I thiiink it’d be jan lili?
