I definitely should not have done it all in one sitting. This took forever to do, but I was enjoying it so I didn’t want to stop! I’m going to bed now, but here’s the finished set
Looks amazing!
So, I picked up my new glasses and have been bothering a few people with my happiness about them. So, story time :P
me oversharing cause I want to
It is only my second pair of glasses, the old ones I bought seven years ago. I had a medical complication for which I needed to see a few different doctors, one of whom was an eye specialist. Luckily, my eyes were fine, but he suggested that, while not strictly necessary, glasses could be useful. So I got some together with two friends. I liked them at the beginning, but after seven years, I changed quite a bit.
So almost a year ago, I saw an image of an original character, and I was like, “I need glasses like that” (I love the design of the character, very gender). I realize now I really needed new glasses. Things in the distance are so sharp!
Anyways that the glasses:
I like them a lot, and I like how they look on my face. The glasses case is made of cork fabric, and it feels really nice! <3
Since I am already writing, here is my current collection of piercing accessories:
ear piercing locations
I think I mentioned it somewhere, but for completeness, my left ear only has a tunnel, while my right ear has an industrial, a helix, and a lobe piercing next to the tunnel. I do not have any other piercings.
I dont buy things but this is like the closest chanel?
Look at my snail fossil i found
I recognised the rock as triassic limestone near the bathroom so i have been looking around for fossils while waiting for my freind to get out the toilet and now i got a snaol
I am verry pleased
Not really expensive, but a couple years ago I got this really cursed insatiable desire to eat a rock… I wish I was joking, but the demons inside me were really winning by a large margin. I rarely impulse buy, but I found out that chocolate rocks exist, and they look pretty convincing to the real thing so I bought some.
They tasted terrible. It promptly ended my desire to eat a rock. Still a fun and memorable purchase though!
(Not sure if these are the exact ones I bought, I don’t have a picture from when I did. Hindsight 20/20 and all that.)
My suruga-ya order arrived today! Yen is really weak right now and this site in particular has been doing frequent free shipping promotions for months, so it’s never been easier to get a bunch of used stuff from Japan. It’s becoming a habit. In particular I was after that goofy Namco spinner controller.
Bonus: concert haul. Say Anything is doing a 20th anniversary tour for their album …Is A Real Boy, along with Greet Death and AJJ. Nothing against IARB but you can clearly see who I was there for.
Beaut set of coasters featuring some of my fav native birds and flowers ^v^
Calender from the Rail Museum I visited
I Imported Fit Boxing feat Hatsune Miku from Japan and it is really fun! I read today that the ESRB has rated the game, which means it probably is going to come to the market outside of Japan, too.
It is a rhythm boxing game (kinda obvious, I guess). Initially, it asks you for your height, weight, and other information, but you can skip that. Then, it asks what body parts you want to focus on and what your goals are. I think depending on what you choose the daily is going to shift its focus. I have yet to try it out, though.
The game has two game modes. One where a trainer talks and gives instructions and a mode where Vocaloid songs are playing. It keeps track of all the days you played, and there are unlockable costumes (sadly only three for each character) and songs. You also can choose between Miku, Luca, Rin and Len to do the exercises with you.
There is also something akin to a daily, roughly ~30 minutes long. It mixes the two previous modes, but the mode with the instructor takes up the most time.
There is a stretching part before and after a daily. You can disable it, though, which I did because the stretching exercises in the game are too simple for me, so I prefer to do stretches myself.
The different moves I have seen so far are jab, straight, uppercut, hook, sway, ducking, and a thing where you have to punch as fast as possible in a row. The game is pretty okay at tracking the moving joy-con in your hand but it does struggle to distinguish the different punches from each other and just counts them most of the time even if you did the wrong one. What is a bit weird to learn at first what part of a move is the part that gets you the action. Like when swaying it is the upward sideways movent that counts not the downward part.
As expect, the mode with the songs is the most exhausting. Here are some screenshots
Bonus images of Miku being cute.
Also, I love that outfit. I want that crop top hoodie with the free shoulders! So here is a drawing of Miku in that outfit that I found. Credit
The friend I am visiting gifted me this cute sticker. Orcas are so cool! Hehe I am super happy to have them as a friend.
Got some new cards in!
Just picturing the classic boarder stuff and the specialty lands for my commander deck (which I’ve been waiting to get for a while now since I don’t play much commander). Would have gotten classic bordered Sulfurous Springs (preferably 7th Edition) if a) there were enough of them and b) they weren’t so expensive from where I was buying from. The Shock(s) also now means that I have a card from every Premodern legal set (4ED to SCG) now.
Second pic is the izzet lands that were holding the place for the rakdos lands I just got and will be added to the binder.
Got one of my dream guitars the other day!
This is a 2023 Squier Classic Vibe 60's Jazzmaster in 3-Color Sunburst that my father found on Craigslist like-new for ~$150 cheaper than a brand new one. I had everything I wanted: right color, rhythm/lead circuit, wiggle-stick, everything. I have been waiting many years to get one, and I still can't believe that I own one now.
I posted about my other guitars here
EDIT: this guitar has since been sold
Þat looks like a poster for a homemade horror move
Þats incredible
Shørk!
i showed off the pocket watch i got in my trip thread, but there’s another great find i had at the same con: a tarot deck of mushrooms!! the artist is Sara Richard, in case that got cut off or hard to read. it’s a full deck, so the major arcana and then each of the four minor suits all have their own assigned mushroom!
my one gripe with this deck is that it’s a bit hard to tell the numbers of the suits at a glance (you can see for the Ace of Cups, for example, it looks like at least two) — but the composition in all the major arcana is really well done.
