but I also like the idea of an interdimensional plushie that takes different forms depending on its holder 
I like this brand for tiny plushies, they are incredibly soft.
Additionally: I’m a little self-conscious about carrying one around, so what if your plushie was itself disguised as a pocket

Maybe via rotations in 4d space, the 3d manifestation of the pocket plushie is able to assume a form that is well accommodated for things like:
- the carrier’s sensory needs
- the size of the pocket in question
- social camouflage
- et cetera
