Beep boop, hi everyone! It's a lilian with a bit of a reminder/clarification about privacy on the forum.

Short Summary

Most of this site's categories (Blanket Fort, Interests and Projects, Group Games, Twitch and YouTube, Site Meta) are are not able to be seen without an account.

Please be considerate of other forum users by not taking anyone's personal writings from private categories off-site (e.g. by uploading screenshots/reposting posts elsewhere, submitting posts to LLMs like ChatGPT) without their permission. Please be mindful about what you choose to share here.

Also, nobody is in trouble!

Safety & Fun

I personally believe that interacting online is a tradeoff between safety and fun. I also believe that it is up to every person, entity, and creature to find the balance between safety and fun that is most right for them:

It is important to me that this place feels like a safe place to hang out. That being said, the only way to make it 100% safe would be to never let a single person in, and that wouldn’t be very fun! These are some tips I hope you can use to find your own balance between safety and fun.

Many users on this forum (myself included!) have chosen to share intimate aspects of themselves as an opportunity to experience connection (fun) with others. By sharing, they've given up some control (safety) because what they've shared is now out there and can't be taken back!

Please be considerate of other forum users by not taking anyone's personal writings off-site

One thing we can do to help everyone feel safer (and hence more willing to take risks and have fun!) is to not take anyone's personal writing off this site without their permission. If someone shares something personal in one of the private categories here, they have chosen to release that information under this website's privacy policy with the assumption that the wider internet won't have access to that category. I would ask that everyone refrain from taking anyone else's personal writing somewhere that it would be governed by another privacy policy that the writer hasn't agreed to.

I don't expect anyone here to be a data lawyer or cryptology expert. I'm not going to call the Internet Police on anyone for showing their friend a silly horse meme or relating a meaningful anecdote - if that was the case I'd be in jail! Just do your best to be thoughtful and considerate about what you do with the personal things someone's chosen to share with you.

I’ll do my best to make this place feel comfortable and safe, but please remember that everything is ultimately open to anyone who makes a free account. You should assume that whatever you post here is available to be copied and archived across the Internet, and you never know when something might get screenshotted and go viral!

Please keep in mind that this is an open community and make intentional choices about what you share accordingly.
