Music that sounds like quiet authority

I don’t even know how to describe it really, or if a genre exists. But the song “Tuyo” narcos theme, sounds like a person with immense power, but the person doesn’t seek to show it. Like Gus Fring from breaking bad. This is the best example

It’s really hard to find songs with the vibe I’m talking about, so here’s some other less good examples
songs by BigXthaPlug like “Back on my BS”

Or actually, maybe big isn’t right, maybe more like Lacrimosa

Or never by Mag Lo

Of these songs only Tuyo has what I’m truly talking about, but the others have some aspect of it. Does anyone know what I’m talking about or am I just yapping crazily.

If you do feel me, do you have any songs like Tuyo, or do you know what type of thing I should be searching because I’ve been looking for a while but can’t find any.

P.S idk if there is a better place to ask a question like this already made so I just made my own. Let me know if there was a better spot to put this

It has no lyrics, but this mashup song may honestly kinda hit a sweet spot for you:

Also I’m not sure if these hit right for you, maybe a bit too pop inspired, (or maybe too much like “loud” authority) but YouTube mixes about being a villain or antihero may have a few songs that hit the feeling you’re looking for. Here’s a few that have found their way to my recommended feed:

Trying to find some music in my playlists is hard because I don't listen to more subtle music frequently, I'll edit this post when more come to mind

Edit 1: I knew xenoblade would have what I was looking for

XC2 might get closer but I'll need to check that out later

These are not the right vibe, however, they do go hard. I really like purification quick audio cut off, very unique

Plastermaster mentioned mobster core and I also started wondering if any of these songs featured in peaky blinders hit.
Especially thinking about the final song, red right hand:

This is getting closer, however, the Mario instrumental type makes it more whimsical. I’m looking for like, a drug lord vibe. Like a song that would play when looking at a person you have proof did something bad, but you still know they will win and come out unscathed.

Like calculated power instead of power of strength. To me the tubas give off powerful strength. While the high pitched guitar playing over the deep calculated base tone of tuyo seems like it doesn’t have to act strong. Even though it is high pitched it still seems powerful.

I’m really getting into this now, I didn’t know i analyzed this song in my head so much

Ooo arctic monkeys “do you want to know” is closer yet. Took me a while to stop thinking about the blue color worker memes though “the ford f150”

Thank you for all your contributions, I feel bad being like “no that’s not right.” Idk, good music was shared reguardless though

No worries! Just trying to hit the vibe for you. Gives me a better idea of what you’re looking for regardless.

Some of these are going to not fit the vibe but just throwing out a lot of ideas

This one felt the closest to the vibe but idk

This might work ¯\(ツ)

This song is more or less trying to have this vibe kinda...

this one might be to imposing

mix of chill and danger vibes might be it I don't think so but might be

This might work but also I just really like the song so I have a bias to shove it into everything

More “casual evil” but authority also plays an important factor in that.

I wouldn't say this authority is quiet but there sure is a lot of it here XD

I feel like the acoustic version fits here best

I don’t know why but this two also feels right

This one is much calmer and you feel the subtle treat only after reading the translation, which is not needed in the narcos one but it might be close enough.

I hope they're not that far off. In the worst case, it is still a lot of good music XD

Edit:

All the games OST made me think of the Void Stranger soundtrack

Also World of Horror, but it is more “tension” than “authority".

There's some Ryu Umemoto[1] stuff that might fit the vibe your after: most notably for me being Ago, Encoder, and Desert Storm, all from 1994's Xenon: Fantasy Body [Warning of adult content within if you go looking for more info outside of the music] for the PC-98. Ago is more subdued and takes a bit to get going, but has a low brass lead that starts around 2 mins in, Encoder to me sounds like a villain holding the thing most important to you in their hands, ready to crush it. I'll link the soundtrack here is you want to scrub through it to find something I didn't mention

A lot of Ryu Umemoto's work in this era is similar to this

Ok I’m looking up the niche YouTube music playlists now.
I looked up “mafia core” and this was one of the videos that popped up?
But also I think it’s some of the things you’re looking for or is close. (Or atleast some songs are)

In terms of more machiavellian type stuff, hoi4 millennium dawn mod soundtrack has a lot of good songs.

Not sure if it fits the vibe exactly but

Listened through some more PC-98 stuff today and found this that might work: B_018 by Tadashi Sawashita for 1992's Libros de Chilam Balam.
