the longest word i could build from loads of suffixes when I was 9:
protrusionalisticeringallyismed
Xeric (verry dry)
prerogative
viscous
samonella
Xeric
It’s an adjective that means really dry and usually refers to an environment
I like it because it’s a fancy way of saying dry and also it’s another word that uses x like xylophone
Edit: Crap why do all my favourite words get posted right before I do I JUST scrolled up after posting this what the heck
I was kinda confused when I saw your post because the word seemed really familiar, then I also scrolled up and saw it, lol
In terms of fancy words for basic things, I like “cicatrix”, which just means a scar. It also has a x in it, but it isn’t pronounced like in xylophone. I also just think “cicatrix” is fun to say, kinda like “kiosk”, I brought up before
These are all Christianity-related (at least in this one’s mind) but they’re good words to say:
- Cleric/Clerical
- Rector
- Deacon
- Acolyte
- Bishop
Onomatopoeia is a fun word to say
Edging.
wonky
oblong
Cascade
Cyclic
Smoothing
Gerenuk
Squirrel is perhaps one of the strangest words in English and to our understanding one of the hardest for ESL learners to pronounce properly.
Honestly I still dont know how you are suppposed to pronunce it.
It feels like you are trying to spell all the consonants without any of the vowels like "skwrrl" or something.
That's pretty accurate! Or like, skwhirrel
Oh hah my phone tried to autocorrect that to squirrel
