Bunny
Squid
Agronomy
Chortle
Loddle (form the game Loddlenaut) (PEAK GO PLAY IT)
Goo
Goop
Ambivalence. It's impacted my life quite a bit, you should give it a try too.
rubicon is such a good word
surprisingly it did not post this because of rain world, but ivycomb's raised by aliens
Apoptosis
Shrewd
haphazardly
tomfoolery
shenanigans
They're lovely words, but i also like their flow and rhythm.
in Swedish, we have a rolling r, at the tip of the tongue. And if that isn't stim, i don't know what is.
brrum (as the car does)
brilliant
trollkarlar (wizards)
trumma (drum)
grumping (grumpy)
frästelse (temptation)
fÜrfärligt (horrible)
so many satisfying words.
It's similar in German, as used to great effect in this song:
Some English dialects also have a rolling r. Can't find a clip now, but I always liked how the 7th Doctor says "brigadier".
Oh goodness, my first experience with this word was the book Paradise Rot and that book left such a strong impression that I don't think I'll ever be able to disentangle the word mezzanine from the ... ehm - visceral imagery of the book.
It's such a good word >:3 As for the book, in the words of a Reddit post:
I recommend it and strongly advise against it at the same time
Oh no, I've become intrigued
Fun japanese words sharing time
äşćé¨(samidare): "early summer rain"
Compound is formed by äşć(May) and é¨(rain), although ăăăŤ(midaru) comes from ć°´ĺ(mizutare) according to this one article I just found.
Anyway, point is, samidare is a really nice word and feels great to say. Wish I came across it in lyrics more often.
ćăŽă˛ă(tenohira): while it sounds like the most badass word ever, it just means "palm." I have come across much more lyrics containing tenohira and just as one would assume, it sounds great.
I have only come across one song containing BOTH words, ăăăăźă¨ăłăăŤăăăŞăă from Minstrel, a touhou rearrangement circle from back in the old touhou meta days. It is a great song.
More Japanese words!
ä¸äşä¸ (hifumi): "one, two, three", fun to say and fun to look at!
ééĺł (daigomi): true enjoyment, greatest appeal of something. The most wonderful pleasure, the deep satisfaction one gets from an experience.
Going to give top billing to a contraction I came up with several years ago, "(Good) Mornafternight", a catch-all to wish someone well no matter the time of day. It's a bit clunky, but I still like saying it. Willing to take suggestions on it, lol.
"Iridescent", for times when "shiny" isn't evocative enough. It's a very fancy sounding word, perfect for describing a person's eyes.
I'm a big fan of using words in forms they hadn't been used for until recent history. The only one I can think of right now is "gender" (adjective). There's a certain je ne sais quoi quality about considering gender as some sort of unknown but visible scale that really appeals to me, it's kinda similar to "vibes" in that way.
On the topic of words for times of day,
https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/formiddag
Formiddag! Itâs like fore-noon to compliment after-noon. In English thereâs this weird deadzone where itâs late enough to not really be âmorningâ any more but it is literally not after noon yet!
Mesmerising!
It was the first word that came to mind when I sent this video to a friend: Origin of the World Andy Cutting
We tend to like rather complicated words and names like "polytetrafluoroethylene" or "compartmentalization" or "tachyonic antitelephone". We sometimes use that first one as a vocal stim, it's probably our favourite word.
Kettle
Ok! Let's see here...
English (Good Mouthfeel):
â˘Dawdle
â˘Ladle
â˘Arachnid
â˘Suplex
â˘Thud
â˘E-dot-G-dot (E.G.)
English (Silliness)
â˘Tacticool
â˘Murple-Purple/Murple-Maple
â˘Bamboozled
Irish (Good Mouthfeel):
â˘AbĂş! (Forever)
â˘Timpeallacht (Enviroment)
â˘BĂĄn Dearg (Pink, literally White Red!)
German (Good Mouthfeel):
â˘Schneider
â˘Eule
â˘Nachtreiher (Hope I'm spelling that right!)
â˘SpaĂ
Also, about Irish linguo, I find it fun how the literal translations for phrases like "He's hungry" are "The hunger is on him" or "I train at five O'clock" would be "I do be training at five O'clock". I believe that's how it goes atleast, I find it frustrating how Irish is thought in such a way that makes it rather difficult to pick up.
cornobble - to hit someone with a fish
Hippopotomonstrosesquilideliphobia - fear of long words
I like both of these words, but the second is my favourite word of all time just for the irony of its meaning. The first is just goofy (in a good way).
