# Gender Inspirations

Ok, so, I’m sure some of you may have seen my terribly put together [inspiration topic](https://a-lilian-garden.discourse.group/t/general-identity-conceptual-entity-based-inspirations/749). Truth is, that was a poor attempt at this post, so in honor of all of the wonderful [Enby inspirations](https://a-lilian-garden.discourse.group/t/enby-inspirations/75) replies over the months, here’s what I actually wanted to ask!
If enby means the lack off or undefinable gender expression, what are some of the more definable gender expressions you’ve ever felt?
Things that have made you go “Hm, yes indeed, gender” or “Holy \*\*\*\* is that a gender?”
I’ll start of with a pretty foundational inspiration I had, Michiru!
(My egg was quite cleanly obliterated through this show)
Now you may ask, how can you have both enby _and_ gender inspirations?..
I have no clue, perhaps someone screwed up my soldering work. Perhaps I picked up a whole two genders in the character creator. Perhaps gender was much like santa, a bedtime story creature made to terrify children! Or perhaps… Perhaps the real gender was the friends we made along the way!

I loved BNA verry nice show
I cant remember where a lot of my gener comes from but whan i was starting out on e i was like ,red from overly sarcastic productions she is my transition goals
I was never an egg i knew i was a girl as soon as i knew it was an option so this might be slightly more dificult for me
Ok black hen warren from the ember knight is also gender for me
She is Big strong spear and armour kinda silly not fem but not mesc either

I mean… just look at this… if this is not gender I don`t know what it is (I really dont)
Also does slow math counts? if so them.
`EDIT`: honestly? this forum in general is gender inspirations, I learned so much about gender and me in general here.

i mean, it's not just lack of, or undefinable, right?
it can also be mixed, double, reduced, increased, varied, fluid, queered, inhuman, ad-human, transhuman, bent, lensed, prismatic, multiple, muted, void, esoteric, material, blurred, continuous, paradoxical, artificial, grown, is this small enough that, it's not readable anymore?
and so much more (can't enumerate a spectrum!)
there's nothing contradictory with having enby and gender inspirations :3
i don't even know what i am in terms of gender identity, all i know is that between me and my headmate we have too much gender and it can't fit in just one self, all that gender fluid would spill out
xD anyway
the other day after watching star wars episode 2 with some friends we were talking about the kaminoans
 
caulie mentioned they felt that they were very gender, especially with the whole beeeg hands and fingers thing, and our friends were all very puzzled that she said that 🤭
(we couldn't explain what we meant in words)

OHH I love bna, I remember almost crying after the intro scenes due to how closely I related as a queer person.
My gender inspirations tend to be dolls or machines, depending on what im feeling like. Sometimes a bathub works too.

Fall best in the categories “oh shit, that exist that so cool” more than a inspiration (denial is but the first step to enlightenment ) ; but The Fool from the Realm of the Elderlings book series of Robin Hobb.
The character is written as such that they are always just themself and that could be anything. Really taught me that you don’t love feature but people, and identity is matter of what you feel not what label you fall under cuz that the beholder problem .
_And the most beautiful relationship I ever read kinda helped_

i’m agender but my inspirations are twofold, at least in terms of presentation.
on the outside i take heavy cues from indie bands and their female leads. that energetic, slightly ironic but still undeniably femme presentation just feels perfect for dealing with others in real life and expressing my artsy side.

on the inside—or rather, when i’m with close friends or my partner, i’m full-on cutesy anime boy. the indie spark is still there but its expression is more tender and less detached
so i guess a simpler way to think about it is imagining a catboy wearing a velvet underground shirt!
